Includes new chapters on surface anatomy in each section of the abdomen and lower limb Addition of many new line diagrams, CT and MRI images, tables, flowcharts to facilitate greater retention of knowledge Additional Feature

Textbook of Anatomy is divided into three volumes, with volume one on upper and lower extremities, volume two on thorax, abdomen and pelvis and volume three on head, neck and central nervous system. Written for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, the text is presented in an easy to understand format, with detailed explanations of clinical correlations of anatomical structures. Each volume contains numerous high quality illustrations and tables to enhance learning, as well as supplementary free online access to a colour atlas, review questions and answers and self assessment of pictures.

The superficial epigastric artery emerges from the femoral artery near the proximal portion of the femoral triangle; it provides blood supply to the skin overlying the femoral triangle as well as the skin of the lower abdomen.[4] The external pudendal artery and the superficial iliac circumflex artery can also supply blood to the skin overlying the femoral triangle.[4]

The Cloquet node is located within the femoral triangle just inferior to the inguinal ligament and is the most superior inguinal node; it receives drainage from both the superficial and deep inguinal lymph nodes and can be removed to assess metastasis in cases of cancer within its region of drainage. The perineum, genitalia, abdomen below the umbilicus, lower anus, and lower back all drain to the superficial inguinal nodes.[5]

Addison reported his findings in a paper titled, "On the anatomical topography of the abdominal viscera in man, especially the gastro-intestinal canal" in which he established a baseline for the anatomy of the abdomen based on the arrangement of the map of the Earth. Using the suprasternal notch as the North Pole of the trunk, and the upper border of the pubic symphysis as the South Pole, he drew a vertical line joining these two points as his meridian. At the meridian's midpoint, he then drew a perpendicular line corresponding to the Equator. As this transverse plane crossed the pylorus, he called it the transpyloric plane.[10]

Thorough revision of all the chapters detailed exposition on inguinal canal, abdominal organs, prostate and joints of the lower limb clinical correlations integrated in the text, highlighting practical application of anatomical facts, have been modified extensively improvement and revision in earlier diagrams and tables clinical case study at the end of each br>Chapter to initiate interest of students in problem based learning (pbl) additional information of higher academic value presented in a simple way in N.B. To make it more interesting for readers, especially the aspiring postgraduates important facts useful for candidates appearing in various entrance examinations like PGME, USMLE, PLAB, listed under Golden facts to remember multiple choice questions at the end of the book for self-assessment of the topics studied core competencies prescribed by the MCI are covered and competency codes are included in the text new to this edition includes new chapters on surface anatomy in each section of the abdomen and lower limb addition of many new line diagrams, CT and MRI images, tables, flowcharts to facilitate greater retention of knowledge additional feature complimentary access to full e-book core competencies prescribed by the MCI are covered and competency codes are included in the text.

Instant Anatomy is an Interactive learning tool for the study of human anatomy. The tool contains diagrams, video podcasts, recorded lectures, and revision questions to help prepare for oral and written exams with the Multiple Choice Questions and Oral Exams in Anatomy. The content of the resource is divided into 5 main sections, head and neck, thorax, abdomen, upper limb and lower limb. Each section is further sub-divided by type of body part, areas/organs, vessels, nerves, joints, muscles, surface anatomy, vertebrate levels. The video podcasts section includes the additional materials, Embryology, and Easy Ways of Remembering Tricky Areas of Anatomy.

NetAnatomy is an educational tool designed to teach human anatomy to all health professional students. It also functions as a review tool for those who have already studied anatomy but would like to brush-up for board preparations or clinical rotations. From the three main categories (radiographic anatomy, gross anatomy, and cross-sectional anatomy) users can select the following body regions: head & neck, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, upper limb & lower limb.
