Dogs bark, and their barks carry a message. Bio-Sense has the technology that tells the difference between an ordinary bark and a bark that means that the dog senses a threat to its security or owner. Bio-Sense sensors have been sold to hundreds of customers including the Israeli Defense Forces, the Israeli Air Force, private businesses and the Israel Prison Authority. In these places, detection of a threat bark means that a general alarm is sounded. Bio-Sense has finished the development of a product that takes its existing technology and targets it at the US canine market, a market that includes 74 million dogs.

There are two main applications for Bio-Sense's DBS technology :

(1) Security applications
Using the dog collar for perimeter security applications. Bio-Sense sensors are being used in security applications at hundreds of sites, in Israel and abroad, such as the Israeli Air Force, Prison Authority, and G4S sites.

(2) Dog well being
Bio-Sense's proven bark translation technology, combined in an innovative collar, will let the owner tell whether the dog is safe, healthy and its whereabouts.

Bio-Sense's perimeter security product is field-proven and deployed at hundreds of sites. The dog collar will be piloted by a leading cellular carrier and a pilot will be conducted with the general public during the course of 2009.

The target market for the Bio-Sense collar is US dog owners that see their dog as part of the family and that are concerned for its well being when they are away from their house. For these consumers, the pet market is undergoing a radical change of pet humanization, exemplified by the recent growth in dog related services such as grooming, health insurance and doggie day care services. The Bio-Sense collar also presents an intriguing service for cellular service providers, adding new lines in an already saturated market.
